Frequently Asked Moshava Questions

When is Visitor's Day 2008?
First Session Visitor's Day is July 6 from 12 noon until 4 pm
Second Session Visitor's Day is August 3 from 12 noon until 4 pm

What happens on Visitor's Day?
Moms, Dads, sisters and brothers, aunts and uncles, cousins and grandparents come to visit! Bring a kosher lunch for your bunch, see a great camper produced show and meet important people at camp. The pool will be open and there will be a baseball game so come prepared!

Can we bring our dog on Visitor's Day?
Bring your dog but make sure it's on a leash and you clean up after doggie "business". Don't forget Fido's water, it gets really hot!

What happens with two week campers?
Two week campers will either go home with Mom and Dad on Visitor's Day or will sign on for another two weeks. Either way, come to the office to let us know what's happening. If your child extends for another two weeks he will return home on the regular bus with the four week campers.

What time do the buses leave for camp? Where do they leave from?
Silver Spring: We will board the bus at Blair High School parking lot at 9 a.m. Look for us on the University Boulevard entrance, on the left side of the building. Blair is located at the intersectin of University Boulevard and Colesville Road (Route 29). Please allot one hour for us to board all of our Silver Spring campers.

Baltimore: The bus will leave from the parking lot of Beth Israel Congregation on Crondall Lane in Owings Mills at 10:30 a.m. Crondall Lane is located off of Owings Mills Boulevard, just north of Reisterstown Road.

Columbia: The bus will leave from the Route 32/Broken Land Parkway van/car lot at 10 a.m. This is the lot on the right side of Broken Land Parkway North.

Other: If you are arriving on your own, please call us and let us know your plans. If you are arranging plane transportation, please call Rachel Glaser, 410-654-5629. Madatz will come to camp on Friday, June 16th. They will be notified of exact details soon.

What happens with campers' luggage?
There will be a truck to transport all the campers' luggage. Just bring it to the bus, we will help your child get it to their bunk.

What type of luggage should I use?
Most campers chose to use a footlocker because it keeps clothing organized and clean. They can also use the trunk as a table. Please use whatever you like, though. We have campers who use duffel bags, suitcases, even trash bags! What ever works for you!

Can I pay by credit card?
We accept Visa and MasterCard. You can send Tammy Schmidt a note in the mail or by email. Include the card number, expiration date and the amount to be billed. Please note your child's name so we credit your account.

Can I send my camper emails?
We do not encourage email communication. But we LOVE snail mail letter writing. Send your camper lots and lots of wonderfully upbeat handwritten letters.

Can I send my camper a package?
Campers love to get packages from home. Please send books, cards, team building games, fun stuff! Please do not send any food items.

Is there a scholarship fund to contribute to?
Yes! Mark a special occasion with a contribution to our scholarship fund. The honoree will receive a letter letting them know a contribution was made in their honor. It's a great way to help others enjoy Moshava.

Do I really need to send all that clothing on the clothing list?
Yes! Whether your child is coming to camp for two or four weeks, all the clothing will be used. Laundry goes out once a week so your child will need enough for two weeks.

Do two week campers need a sleeping bag?
All campers will use sleeping bags. Two week campers will go on at least one overnight camping experience.
